Nokia launched the 6301 UMA phone, an update to the popular 6300 model. The Nokia 6301 is a phone with a candybar form factor that runs on the GSM 900/1800/1900 frequencies and offers WiFi and a 2 megapixel camera Weighing in at a scant 93g (3.28oz), the Nokia 6301 also features a 2" QVGA resolution screen, 30MB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot. While a 128MB card included in the box, the 6031 support cards up to 4GB in capacity. The Nokia 6301 also includes an FM Radio, MP3 player, and integrated speakerphone. Estimated talk time is 3.5 hours, with standby estimated at 14 days. The Nokia 6301 also ships with the Nokia DT-23 deskstand, which charges the phone while in use. The Nokia 6301's UMA support allows it to seamlessly transfer a call from the GSM cellular network to a WiFi hotspot, allowing users increased coverage and superior sound quality. The Nokia 6301 will launch as part of Orange's Unik range of converged fixed and mobile phones. Availability is planned for Q4 2007 with pricing at 230EUR (US$322.98) before taxes and subsidies.
