 HTC Trinity P3600 - Design
The HTC P3600 stands out from the crowd. It is a milky white colour with silver accents around the keys underneath the phone. If you take a closer look, it is as if the white plastic has been covered with a clear layer. This gives the phone a nice shine, but makes it feel a bit plasticky. The digital camera, which is surrounded by an attractive silver circle, is on the back of the phone. If you touch the key for taking a call, a numerical keyboard appears on the screen, which means that the HTC P3600's glossy exterior does not need to be spoilt by a number keyboard. This gave the designer a lot more freedom.
HTC Trinity P3600 - Menu
As the HTC P3600 is a Windows mobile 5.0 based telephone, it has many of the same functions as a computer. The menu has been constructed logically and has a clear, easy to oversee structure. It is nice to work with, but it takes a while to find all the functions, especially because they are all just a little bit different than in a normal mobile phone. Thanks to the size of the screen, everything can be ordered properly, which allows you to see everything clearly. Via the start screen, you can take a quick look in your mail box or check your calendar and record appointments. You can also quickly check the connection settings where you can install settings like WLAN and Bluetooth via the start screen.
HTC P3600 - 2 Megapixel camera
The HTC P3600 has a 2 Megapixel digital camera that works well under good lighting conditions, but clearly performs below average in dark or dim lighting condition. It is prone to movement blur if you take photos in dim light. As there is no form of extra light, small in-built flash or a LED, the little lens has to do everything. Clearly it's having a hard time of it. Maybe the next generation of HTC mobile phones will work better in the aforementioned light circumstances. The camera works well in daylight, producing clear, high-quality pictures. When the camera is activated, you just hold the phone the same way you would hold an ordinary digital camera. HTC P3600 - Interval of delay 
The interval of delay is not usually a problem in daylight. It is a question of estimating the right moment. It is different when taking photos with a moving subject. Evening shots will not be able to capture such a subject sharply, due to the lack of a flash and a too long shutter speed. In daylight, it is also difficult to capture fast moving subjects, not least because of the interval of delay. Even after you have overcome this obstacle it is a hassle to freeze the action with the special Sport setting. It is a pity that mobile phone cameras are not yet able to take good action photos. It is a matter of time, however. After all, it took a while before digital cameras worked as well as they do now. HTC P3600 - Digital camera settings You can change some of the HTC P3600's camera settings directly without referring back to the menu. On the start screen, you can adjust settings like white balance, brightness, photo quality and the self timer. The HTC P3600 camera also has a brightness function, but it is a shame that there is no flash installed on the HTC P3600. If you press the selection keys to the left or right, the camera switches between different settings, so that you can choose from Photo, Video, and Photo for your contacts and framed Photos. HTC P3600 - Editing and sending photos
You can edit photos after taking them. You can crop them, turn or even apply an auto correction to the photo. Auto correction is good for correcting the yellow wash over a photo when you have chosen the wrong white balance. After all the photos have been edited and you are satisfied with the results, you can send them to your friends via MMS, MSN, E-Mail, infrared, USB cable and per Bluetooth. You can also choose to play a slide show. The quickest method for transferring photos to your computer is with a USB cable; transferring 43.2MB took just under 2 minutes. All in all the HTC P3600 gives you enough choice to be able to do fun things with your photos. HTC P3600 - miniSD Memory card
Recently, more phones have the option of expanding their memory with an external flash memory card. Each brand has its own possibilities for extending memory: Sony Ericsson often goes for Memory Stick micro, and recently Samsung has stuck to microSD. In the HTC P3600 you can expand memory with a miniSD card. Generally, a miniSD is a cheap memory card and it is a good idea to extend storage capacity so that you can also use the HTC P3600 as an MP3 player. Although the HTC P3600 is not the smallest phone in town, taking 2 appliances out with you is always more bother than just having one slighter larger one. HTC P3600 - Windows media player
If you click on start, you will find a Windows media player just like the one on your computer. The media files on the HTC Trinity P3600 can be quickly found on t he automatic search function. The headphone that comes with the HTC P3600 has a good sound quality and can also be used as a hands free set. The video shown via the Windows Media player are good quality. If you are already familiar with the Windows media player functions from your computer, you don't have to spend a long time figuring out how everything works. HTC P3600 - Wi-Fi connection
You can browse the Internet via a Wi-Fi connection with HTC's phones. You can internet quickly via the wireless connection at home. The HTC P3600 also has Outlook so that you can check your E-Mail when you are not at home. At airports and events, you can also make use of access points, also known as hot spots. Under favourable circumstance, the HTC P3600 has a range of about 100 meters and is quick and stable. You can also choose the airplane setting via the connection menu. With this setting you can leave your phone on in the plane, but all connections are switched off. HTC P3600 - Internet Explorer
The HTC P3600 also has Internet Explorer. You can go on Internet with the W-LAN connection or make a connection via GPRS, HSDPA of a phone in connection. It takes a little time to get used to the look of the pages. Because not everything can fit on the screen, you will have to keep on scrolling horizontally. It s a handy feature if you want to look something up quickly when you are away from home. You can also save pages as favourites and scrolling with the pen on the touch screen is also very handy. HTC P3600 - Microsoft office functions
If you have collected your mail and there is a Word, Excel, PDF or PowerPoint file, you can see and rework it via the office programs on the HTC P3600. You can zoom in and out in the document and use practically all the handy functions. The scroll function via the touch screen also comes in handy here. You will find the diary on the start up screen. The diary function is very large, so that you can add notes and set the place, time, date, category and how often you wish to be reminded. When you have arrived at your appointment and have a conversation that you need to remember, you can record it with a touch of the Voice recording button. HTC P3600 - Lithium Ion battery
The HTC Trinity P3600's battery is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Lithium Ion battery. According to HTC, it's good for a stand by period of almost 10 days and 5 hours phoning. The stand-by time if you do not use the phone is roughly accurate; depending on the temperature it could also be 9 or 11 days. The conversation time of 5 hours has been rather optimistically estimated. It is just 4 hours and losing an hour is quite a lot, but this is also due to playing around with the phone during stand by time. If you connect the phone to your computer via USB, the battery is recharged immediately. This is very handy. HTC Trinity P3600 - Touch screen 
The HTC Trinity P3600 has a 2.8-inch (7.11 cm) touch screen with 65,536 colours. The picture has clear, bright colours and is great to work with. The touch screen takes a bit of getting used to, but whether you work with a pen for the screen or you use your finger (which can be impossible because the keys are too tiny) the touch screen works well and quickly. It's better to use a pen for the pressure sensitive screen, otherwise it just gets covered in fingerprints and this spoils its appearance. If a pen breaks, you can order a new one quite quickly. HTC Trinity P3600 - Sound quality
One of the most important things in a mobile phone is of course, sound quality. Voices sounded clear and were not crackly. It is handy that you can take calls via the button on the headphone's microphone. HTC P3600 Conclusion
The HTC Trinity P3600 is an attractive phone that has been well put together technologically. All of its functions are easy to use and work well. However, that is more than can be said of the HTC P3600's camera. It doesn't perform very well in dim light, and does not have a flash. It is fine during the day in good light, but you won't be able to take a picture during an evening out. It's good that you can hold it like an ordinary camera when taking a photo. The connections such as Bluetooth and the W-LAN are good and stable. The battery lasts a reasonable amount of time, but it may be useful to have the charger with you. All in all, the HTC Trinity P3600 is a great phone to work with and offers a lot of possibilities. There are a few points that need improving, like the digital camera, but that was the main drawback. The HTC P3600 is an attractive phone that will grab people's attention as well as being handy. The HTC P3600 is an excellent phone for people who want more out of their mobile than just making phone calls.
